Green Taste

The Abruzzo Region, with its three National Parks, the Gran Sasso Laga, the Maj the And the Abruzzo National Park, the Sirente Velino Regional Park and five wildlife reserves, is defined the "Green Region of Europe".

The Green Taste proposals are hiking tours in different levels of difficulty that will take you to discover walking the multiple aspects of our Region. We will start off with the Abruzzo National Park, the first created in Italy, in 1922, still today a place where it is possible to get in touch with unspoilt and sometimes wild nature; we will walk its valleys and woods, where it is not hard to spot deer, roes, boars, and in the luckiest cases, to watch the famous Apennine wolf or the pacific Marsican Brown Bear, living symbol of the co-existence between men and wild animals. We will face then the peaks of the Italian Gran Sasso, among which there is the highest summit in the Apennins, the Big Horn, with 2912 meters of altitude. We will gaze at the majesty of the Massiccio della Majella, and we will be enchanted by its fascinating landscapes and the spirituality of its hermitages: or again, by the startling panoramas in the Silente Velino Park, a small piece of Dolomites in the Italian Central Apennines.
